Edgewood High School
Wabash Valley Classic

Game Recap

This was a very odd night. The ‘Wood played in the Final 4 of the First Financial Wabash Valley Classic tonight at Terre Haute North.

I’m not a “moral victory guy” but it was the best 15 point loss (89-74) I’ve ever been part of. We battled throughout even though THS shot crazy percentages in the first half. Their star player scored 30…yes 30…in the first half. We had numerous chances to roll-over. We didn’t!

Patton went for 35 points and 17 boards….decent numbers I’d say!

We never quit! I’m so proud of my guys! This is yet another big step in our program’s turning the corner.

Please come support us tomorrow in our 3rd place game!

Brown 3 points

Bybee – 13 points

Cradick – 2 points

Howard – 19 points

Kido – 0 points

Patton – 35 points

Thomas 3 points

We’ve slid into game day 4 at the First Financial Wabash Valley Classic, and tonight all the hardware is on the line. The ‘Wood has fought our way into the consolation game, so we are fighting to finish 3rd in the 16 team tourney against Northview. I pretty nice trophy will be taken home by someone. Since we haven’t won any trinkets in the past year, we might as well start with this one.

I have no idea how much energy we have left in our tanks. But this will be another very cool environment. With TH North vs TH South in the final, seats will be hard to find by halftime of our game. Northview is very long; it will be another great test. This could be the first of 4 contests with the Knights. We play them later in the regilar season, they could be our WIC crossover opponent, and they are obviously in the sectional.

Our effort has been pretty solid throughout the tourney, and I think we’ve represented the community really well. We seem to have picked up fans from all over the place, and BP’s standing ovation last night was pretty cool after his effort against TH South.

To those fans who have traveled over for the tourney…I hope you’ve enjoyed the experience. There is nothing like the Classic! Those who have spoken to me seem to really appreciate it. I hope we can continue to build our fan base at EHS through effort and attitude that we display on the court.

We certainly will try!
