Cloverdale High School
Edgewood High School
Edgewood jumped out to an early lead on Cloverdale and captured a 10-0 victory on Monday.
Five runs in the first three innings allowed Edgewood to put the game away early.
A single by Mac Kido, an RBI double by Ryan Pursell, a wild pitch, a passed ball, and a passed ball in the first inning supplied the early offense for Edgewood.
Edgewood was led by Phillip Terrell’s hitting. Terrell went 2-4, drove in one and scored two runs. He singled in the first inning and doubled in the fourth inning.
Edgewood’s Ryan Pursell kept Cloverdale off the scoreboard for all five innings he was on the hill. He pitched a shutout, allowing no runs on four hits while striking out nine.
Noah Winings was charged with the loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked one, struck out none, and allowed five runs.
Edgewood increased its lead with four runs in the fourth. A error scored Connor Morton to get Edgewood on the board in the inning. That was followed up by Terrell’s double, bringing home Ryan Pursell.
