An impressive effort by Connor Morton lifted Edgewood to a 10-0 win in six innings over Brown County on Tuesday.
Morton was in control on the bump. Morton gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out seven during his six innings of work.
Five runs in the first three innings helped Edgewood blow out Brown County. An RBI single by Ryan Stuffle during the second inning fueled Edgewood’s offense early.
Ryan Stuffle racked up three RBIs on three hits for Edgewood.
Matt Redmond was charged with the loss. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out two, and allowed five runs.
Edgewood added four more runs in the top of the third. A single by Gavin Robinson ignited the offense,, bringing home Morton and Mac Kido. That was followed up by Josh Parrish’s single, plating Phillip Terrell.
Edgewood brought home two runs in the fourth inning, and matched that run total in the sixth. In the fourth, Edgewood scored on a two-run single by Kido, scoring Tanner Kolbe and Morton.
