The Edgewood girls track team had a record setting performance on Tuesday night on their way to a victory over Northview and Lighthouse Christian. There were many highlights on the night, but the most impressive was that of Isla Weber in pole vault. Isla set a school record with a vault of 9’0″. This broke the previous record of 8’6″ set by Olivia Ashba.
Other highlights of the night included Audrey Litten winning four different events (4×800, 4×400, 300 Hurdles, Long Jump). Freshman Kaylee Meyer also won three events (4×800, 4×400, 200) as well as finishing second in the mile while setting a personal best. The throwing events were dominated by Edgewood as well. Tori Curtis and Riana Gilliland went one and two in the shot put as well as the disc. Tori was the winner in shot and Riana was the winner in Disc.
It was a great night all around for the girls. The track teams will next be in action on Thursday when they run at home against Owen Valley. This will be senior night for Audrey Litten, Tori Curtis and managers Sydney Dreher and Miranda Drake. Please come out and celebrate our seniors with us.
