On Thursday night, the Edgewood Girls Track team defeated the Owen Valley Patriots 81-50. It was an overall great meet for the girls. They were led on Senior Night by the two seniors, Audrey Litten and Tori Curtis. Tori won the shot put and Audrey won the 300H, 4×800, 4×400 and placed 2nd in the Long Jump. Along with the seniors, Jordan Jones set a new personal best in disc with a throw of 91′ 2″. This was a new personal best by over 15 feet.
In other events, Taylor Thomas won the 100 hurdles and placed 2nd in the 200. Amber Vecrumba won the High Jump with a jump of 5′ 2″. This was a new personal best on the year. As always, our distance team did outstanding. As a group the distance team was able to win the 4×800, place 2nd in the 1600, win the 800 and place 2nd in the 3200. FInally, to finish out the meet, the 4×400 ran a time of 4:27.91. This was a new personal best for the team which included Audrey Litten, Celine Hornick, Stephany Foster and Kaylee Meyer.
The girls will next be in action on Tuesday May 10th at home for the WIC Championship. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5:30.
