Additional Information for Players/Fans:
Expect construction traffic on both IN-37 North and South. At times, the construction limits vehicles to one lane. With Labor Day weekend, we expect that travel times will be delayed. Please plan accordingly as we must start all games on schedule. Luckily, IU does not have a home football game this weekend.
You are expected to make arrangements for water for your team. There are three water fountains at Karst Farm Park that have a spigot to fill water coolers (one each near fields 1&2, 3&4, 7&8). We will not have ice for coolers available at the fields.
Buses of any size will park at Grandview Elementary School only (2300 S. Endwright Road, Bloomington, IN 47403). Please direct your bus drivers to this location on Wendy’s Way off of Endwright Road. We will have volunteers at the bus parking lot to manage the bus traffic. This location is the same as the last four years, which is an improvement to the grass lot we used in the past and is safer for all involved. Fans are not permitted to park in this lot, it is for buses only. For teams not traveling by bus, a parking permit was sent via email today.
All fans MUST use the main entrance for Karst Farm Park on Endwright Road.
Fan Admission & Parking
Admission rates are per person:
Friday night: $5
Saturday: $10 for the entire day
Admission will be collected at the entrance to Karst Farm Park Friday and Saturday and at Bloomington HS South on Friday night. Please ask your fans to keep their admission tickets on Saturday if they plan to exit the park and return later. This ticket is the only proof of admission on Saturday.
These rates are based on the regular admission price to watch a high school soccer game. All teams play one game Friday night and two games Saturday. Likely, spectators will see more than their team’s three games. After the first round of Saturday games for all teams conclude (approximately 2:30 p.m.), the admission fee will drop to $5 per person.
We will have athletic trainers on-site. If you have players who need to be taped before the game, please have them arrive early and report to the red & white sports medicine tent. Also, if possible, please bring the needed supplies (esp. if a player has a special need).
Hoosier Cup t-shirts and sweatshirts will be available at Karst Farm Park during the tournament.
Inclement Weather Procedure
The weather looks promising for this weekend. (see http://www.weather.com/weather/5-day/47403).
However, in the event of thunder, lightning or other major weather issues, we will evacuate everyone from the fields and direct them to their buses at Grandview Elementary School (near field 8). Please ask everyone to board their buses. If it is deemed unsafe to take shelter on the bus, we have the Grandview Elementary cafeteria and gymnasium reserved for safe shelter. We simply ask that the players remove their shoes once they are safely in the building. We will communicate updates via the Karst Rain Hotline (812-349-2126), Twitter (@HoosierCup) and Facebook (facebook.com/hoosiercup).
Thank you so much. We look forward to seeing you this weekend,
Director, Hoosier Cup
