October is quickly approaching which is Breast Cancer Awareness month and in honor of that the Edgewood High School Volleyball Team is selling T-shirts that we designed for our Dig Pink night on October 4th at Edgewood. Along with shirt sales we have a bake sale, a silent auction, and receive donations from businesses all over the community. All of the proceeds usually go to the Sideout Foundation who helps with cancer patients, treatments, research, etc. BUT this year we are not only giving to them but we are also giving to a local teacher at Edgewood High School who was a graduate from there, played volleyball and now has a daughter on the team. About a month ago she started chemo for Breast Cancer and is now having to buy wigs, etc. This has always been a very big deal for us and over the past 4 years we have been able to raised close to $15,000. Every year we try to reach a higher goal, which is $7,500 this year.
If you are interested in purchasing a t-shirt the volleyball team is selling them during lunches through Friday or you can contact Coach Misty Edwards. Deadline for ordering is this Friday, Sept 16. They are $10, sizes Youth Small – Youth Large and Adult Small – Adult 4X (please add $2 for 2X, $3 for 3X, $4 for 4X). Our theme this year is “Real Heroes Wear Pink”.
Also, anyone who purchases a shirt and attends the game on October 4th will get in for FREE!
If you have any questions, please let me know.
