Edgewood High School
Monrovia High School
Suffering a mental and physical let-down from last night’s WIC championship win, Edgewood came out flat and lost at Monrovia 67 -54. The Mustangs were very slow out of the gate, falling behind 13 -1, and were never able to recover. Edgewood closed to within 3 points at halftime, but Monrovia scored the first 5 points of the 3rd quarter and the Mustangs never seriously challenged the home team the rest of the way.
Cooper Bybee led Edgewood with 24 points and Chayton Howard added 17, but that was about all the scoring for the Mustangs as the rest of the team was able to account for only 12 more (Jason Brown 5, Curtis Cowden 3, and Joe Kido & Cam Banister 2 each).
On the glass, Brown led the Mustangs with 7 rebounds, while Howard grabbed 6 and Bybee 5.
