Game Recap

Edgewood scratched and clawed its way to a hard-fought 46 – 42 victory over Sullivan in the Sectional semi-final game. Coach Neill said after the game that although the Mustangs weren’t able to execute much of the pre-game plan and the game wasn’t pretty, in the end they found a way to win — and in the Sectional that’s all that matters.

With Sullivan clamping down on Mustangs’ leading scorer Cooper Bybee, Chayton Howard stepped up to hit some big shots on the way to a game-high 20 points. And, even though he was the constant focus of the defense, Bybee didn’t force things and still ended up with 11.

Rounding out the scoring for Edgewood was Caleb Norris with 5 points (to go along with 5 rebounds), Jason Brown with 4 points (and 5 boards), Cam Banister with 3 points, Jayce Collier with 2, and Joe Kido with 1.

Edgewood will square off with Northview for the Sectional Championship at 7:30 tomorrow night.
