On Saturday March 25 the Edgewood Boys and Girls Track teams will be sending athletes to the indoor State Finals at Indiana University. In order to qualify for the state finals the athletes had to finish in the top 24 in the state in their event. This is quite an accomplishment for these athletes.
For the boys, the Mustangs will be sending eleven different athletes to the finals in five events. Junior Noah Bise will be participating in Long jump and sophomore Ethan Vecrumba will be in High Jump. The boys are also sending three relays to the state finals as well. The 4×800 will consist of Senior Tyler Mcglothlin, junior Zach Kovach and sophomores Cameron Banister and Austin Haskett. The 4×200 is led by Senior Harrison Cottingham with juniors Cole Hall, Ryan Hiatt and Mike Holbrook. Finally, the Distance Medley relay state finalists include Harrison Cottingham, Austin Haskett, Zach Kovach and Freshman Izaiah Doering.
The Lady Mustangs will be sending nine athletes to the finals in five different events. Senior Amber Vecrumba will be participating in High Jump, seniors Isla Weber and Makenzee Kinser will be participating in pole vault and junior Taylor Acuff will be participating in shot put. We are also sending two relays as well. The 4×800 relay includes seniors Celine Hornick and Veronica Presson, Sophomore Kaylee Meyer and Freshman Katie Patton. The 4×400 relay has Celine Hornick, Kaylee Meyer, Katie Patton and freshman Alyssa Milah running for the mustangs.
The State Finals are on Saturday March 25th at 2:00 at Indiana University. Come out and support these Mustangs on their great accomplishment!
