In the first full meet of the season, the Stangs, from the Wood, finished in 2nd place beating Mooresville and losing a fiercely competed battle to the Braves from Terre Haute South.
The skies were cloudy but the atmosphere was dry and crisp and the Mustangs were able to compete in and finish their first full meet of the season! âWe were happy that we got to finish a meet for the first time this season (weather events have cancelled the last 2 attempts) and get some marks for our athletes.â
The Stangs got off to a good start PRâing in the 4 x 8 relay! McGlothlin, Banister, Aydelott and Doering finished 2nd in the race and knocked 20 seconds off of the relays time from 2 weeks ago!
Continuing the strong start, the sprinters went 2, 3, 4, (Hall, Holbrook, Hiatt) and saw 2 of the sprinters PR (Hiatt (12.05), Holbrook (11.96). Also racing and PRâing for the Wood was Colton Bowman with a time of 12.69.
A strong showing from Bolin and Strickland in both hurdle events gave the Mustangs continued momentum to start the night. Bolin placed 2nd in the 110H and Strickland finished in 3rd. Both young men PRâd (Bolin 16.74 ) (Strickland 17.58) The same 2 athletes also finished 2nd and 4th in the 300âs, however, flipping positions as Strickland finished ahead of Bolin. Jackson Ludlow also had a strong showing in both hurdles and he PRâd in both events (19.36 and 50.95)
Austin Haskett was a double winner in the 1600 and the 3200 last night, Prâing in both events (4:25.76 and a 9:55.26). Austin came out strong and ran 2 incredibly tough and âfun to watchâ races against a good runner from THS. Haskett finished his night with a leg in the 4 x 4 also!
Jason Ehrmann and Colton Bowman continued to show improvement in the disc as both PRâd again for the 2nd straight meet! Both young men broke the 120â barrier and finished in 4th and 5th place in the meet (121â8.5 and 120â5.5)!
The Mustangs had 2 athletes come back after being on the injured list to compete as well! Harrison Cottingham and Alex Micheal both made their regular season debuts! Cottingham ran a 54.85 in the open 400 and Alex came out and ran a 2:08.26 in the open 800! Having both of these athletes back in the mix is certainly going to give the Stangs a boost as they grind towards the conference and sectional meets!
Noah Bise continued his strong hold on the LJ winning the meet with a jump of 20â.
