Curtis Cowden didn’t allow a single run as Edgewood defeated Cascade 10-0 on Saturday. Cowden allowed just one hit and induced a double-play from Cameron Ginter to end the game.
An early lead helped propel Edgewood to victory. Edgewood scored on a single by Ryan Stuffle and a walk by Josh Chasteen in the first inning.
Edgewood captured the lead in the first inning. Stuffle drove in two when he singled in the first inning.
A single by Chase Edwards in the fifth inning was a positive for Cascade.
Curtis Cowden earned the win for Edgewood. He tossed five innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, striking out two, and walking zero. Connor Horning took the loss for Cascade. He went one-third of an inning, surrendering five runs, one hit, and striking out one.
Edgewood collected nine hits. Stuffle, Connor Morton, and Phillip Terrell each collected multiple hits for Edgewood. Terrell, Morton, and Stuffle each managed two hits to lead Edgewood.
Edwards went 1-for-2 at the plate to lead Cascade in hits.
