Tanner Kolbe didn’t allow a single hit as Edgewood defeated Cloverdale 18-0 on Tuesday. To get the final out Kolbe struck out TJ Hagymasi.
Phillip Terrell led Edgewood to victory by driving in four runs. He went 2-for-2 at the plate. Terrell drove in runs on a single in the first, a in the second, and a single in the third.
Edgewood took an early lead in the first inning. Edgewood scored two runs when Terrell singled with zero outs in the first inning.
Edgewood scored nine runs in the third inning. Edgewood’s big inning was driven by a single by Terrell, a walk by Josh Parrish, a double by Josh Chasteen, a double by Joe Kido, a single by Curtis Cowden, and a single by Jason Grubb.
Tanner Kolbe earned the win for Edgewood. He tossed five innings, surrendering zero runs, zero hits, and striking out nine. Noah Winnings took the loss for Cloverdale. He went one inning, allowing seven runs, five hits, striking out one, and walking one.
Edgewood had 15 hits in the game. Kido, Chasteen, Connor Morton, and Terrell each collected multiple hits for Edgewood. Kido led Edgewood with three hits in four at bats. Edgewood didn’t commit a single error in the field. Ethan Vecrumba had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
