Meet Recap

On Tuesday, the Lady Mustangs had a great performance at Sectionals. They had 6 events qualify onto Regionals next week at Bloomington North.

Amber Vecrumba started the night off right by winning the High Jump with a jump of 5-1. She was followed by Taylor Acuff and Riana Gilliland finishing third and fourth in the shot put qualifying them both to the Regionals. Taylor set a new personal best of 38-10 which was a personal best by almost 2 feet. Riana followed with a new personal best of 33-11 which was also a new best by almost 1 foot. In the Pole Vault Isla Weber was able to finish third and Makenzee Kinser was able to finish 5th, both jumping 8-6. They are both moving onto Regionals as well.

In the running events, Freshman Alyssa Milah was the only Mustang to advance by running a 1:03 in the 400 and placing third. The 4×800 (Kaylee Meyer, Stephany Foster, Veronica Presson, Celine Hornick) was able to place third as well with a time of 10:42. Finally, the 4×400 (Foster, Meyer, Presson, Milah) placed 3rd with a new best of 4:24. Both of the relays will be advancing to Regionals next week.
