Game Recap

The Edgewood Mustangs lost a tough fought battle to the Owen Valley Patriots last Friday night by a score of 31-7. In the first half, both teams played great defense leading to a 3-0 lead for the Patriots at half time. The second half started with a bang for the mustangs. Sophomore John McGlothlin took a hand off 85 yards for the touchdown, giving the Mustangs a 7-3 lead. The lead didn’t last long as the Patriots closed out the game on a 28-0 run.

The defense was lead by Senior, Tyler Calvin, who had 11 total tackles including two sacks. Along with Tyler, the highlight of the game were the offensive and defensive line. Lead by Senior Ryan Stuffle, they really came out and competed well.

While the boys did fall on Friday, the level of play has improved. If they continue on this path, they will have wins in their future. Their next game will be at home next Friday against the South Putnam Eagles at 7:00. It will be homecoming night for the Mustangs.
