It was a three point halftime lead when the Edgewood Lady Mustangs made a concerted effort to get the ball in the paint, as well as stepping up their defense, to separate themselves from Bloomfield and win 49-38. Bloomfield’s Kylee Shelton had 18 first half points before Taylor Minnick’s defense limited her to 2 second half field goals. With Alle Spear and Kaiden Harrington going to work inside Bloomfield’s zone, Edgewood’s offense looked crisper which led to better shot selection. Spear was 5-9 from the field along with 5 of 6 from the charity stripe to lead Edgewood with 15 points. Harrington had 13 along with 12 rebounds, for her first double-double. Chelbie Anderson steadied things from the point while scoring 5 points and collecting 5 rebounds. Minnick chipped in 6, Cara Clark 3, Carly and Claire Sherfield each had 2, as did Zoe Powell. Daphanie Ehrmann rounded out the scoring with a free throw. The Lady Mustangs take on Sullivan in a varsity only contest Saturday at home at 6:00 .
