A bright and sunny-shiny day, errr, night for a meet!

The boys from the Wood attacked their workout on Tuesday with a great attitude and even though their workout was in the format of a dual meet against a improving Bedford North Lawrence team, their effort was at maximum levels!

On a beautiful, sunny night, event after event showcased Edgewood athletes competing and getting better. On a night where many of our athletes were double or tripled up in events, we were looking to see who would respond with a positive attitude and some mental fortitude!! After a brief workout on Monday, we had many un-rested legs. This did not allow for a huge PR night for most of our kids but we still had some!

John McGlothlin ran the open 100 for the 1st time on the season and was able to win. Blake Love had a season PR (12.09) as did Cameron Curtis (12.24). John also won the 200 meter dash, the 400 meter run and was the anchor on the winning 4×4 team!

Izaiah Doering PR’d by 12 seconds in the 1600 (5:09.60) and fellow junior Luke Roland also PR’d with a time of 5:18.61. Doering also competed in the open 400 meter run, the 200 meter dash and the 3rd leg of the winning 4×4 team.

Nathan Bolin placed 2nd in the 110H and was able to speed to a victory in the 300 hurdles also!
New found (again) junior hurdler, Jackson Ludlow, running in the 300 for the 2nd time this season, kept in line and completed a good race, as did sophomore Aden Siek, competing in his first ever 300 hurdles.

Austin Haskett competed in and won the 3200 and the 1600. Haskett used both of those races as training races as he works towards the conference meet. He also led the boys 4×8 team as well as a leg of the boys 4×4 team.

Field events displayed some good performances. David Brown cleared 6’4 for a second meet in a row and is 1 inch away from tying the school record of 6’5. Blake Love also made some progress and jumped to a distance of 18’8. Kolin Repass cleared 5’4 in HJ for the 2nd time the season. Disc showed Evan O’Connor earning a PR with a toss of 111’10. Elliot Buehl and Junior Derrick Davis both PR’d in disc also (100’0 and 91’2), as well as freshman Josh Webb with a toss of 60’0. Shot also had 4 PR’s. Priest (40’2), freshman Matt White (34’7), Josh Webb (22’11.25) and Mark Hart (21’10.5). Jarrod Robbins and Wyatt Blake were both able to clear heights and will look to improve upon them on Saturday!
