The Freshmen Mustangs started the New Year off on a high note with a 58 – 32 victory over visiting Brown County. Despite the frigid temperature outside, Edgewood heated things up with a 42 point outburst in the first half, turning multiple Eagle turnovers into points at the offensive end.
All seven Mustangs who played found the scoring column, led by Sean Campbell’s 22 points. In addition, Zeke Powell tallied 14 and James Faulkenburg hit a trio of 3 pointers for 9 points. Evan Waters and Ethan Jackson both scored 4 points, while Landon Ringler had 3 and Shane Wickens 2 to round out the scoring for Edgewood.
On the night, the Mustangs defense came us with 16 steals, led by Wickens’ 7. Ringler led well-balanced team rebounding effort with 4 boards, and Wickens added 3 assists to his points and steals.
