The Edgewood JV overcame a slow start to post a thrilling 76 – 63 victory over visiting Bloomington North. The Mustangs trailed by 10 in the first quarter before closing the gap to 2 points at the half. After a back and forth 2nd half that ended with the game tied at 60, Edgewood totally dominated the overtime period on its way to the 13 point win, and sealed the game by hitting 11 out of 13 FT’s in OT (and 17 of 20 for the game).
The Mustangs were led by Derek Farkas, Houston Holmes, and Logan Slabaugh who scored 18, 18, and 17 points respectively. In addition, Chase Souder scored 6 fourth quarter points, including a basket with 5 seconds left to force the game into overtime. Rounding out the scoring for Edgewood was Harrison Pittsford and Austin Schwartz with 5 points each, Coleman Sater with 4, and Cooper Thacker with 3.
With the win, the JV team is now 14 – 2 on the season.
