The Edgewood JV lost a heart-breaking double overtime thriller at Bedford North Lawrence by a 59 – 58 score. In a hard-fought game that was back and forth from beginning to end, poor free throw shooting ultimately was the Mustangs’ downfall, as they were unable to put the game away at the line despite numerous opportunities.
Derek Farkas had 27 points and Houston Holmes added 19 to lead the Mustangs. Coleman Sater and Logan Slabaugh each scored 6 points to complete the scoring for Edgewood.
The JV Mustangs have a quick turn-around and will try to get back on the winning track on Monday against another tough 4A opponent when Terre Haute South comes to town.
