The Edgewood JV came out firing at Martinsville, pouring in 10 3-pointers in the first half as they raced out to a 41 – 34 lead at the intermission. Unfortunately, they were unable to keep up that torrid pace and lost a tough 66 – 62 decision, falling to 0 – 2 on the season.
Jace Utley scored 16 points, and Logan Slabaugh chipped in 13, while Sean Sims added 11 and Caden Huttenlocker 10 in a well-balanced Edgewood attack. Rounding out the scoring for the Mustangs was Zeke Powell and Landon Ringler with 6 points apiece.
The JV will look to get in the win column with a home game against Cloverdale on Thursday.
