The Edgewood JV evened their record on the season with a 61 – 55 victory over visiting Cascade. Continued strong drives to the basket led to a parade to the free throw line, as the Mustangs shot 35 from the charity stripe on the night. And though they didn’t shoot an especially high percentage, the 20 that they converted–combined with 9 made 3-pointers– were enough to keep the taller Cadets at arm’s length most of the way.
In the scoring column, four Edgewood players tallied double figures, led by Sean Sims with 16 and followed by Logan Slabaugh with 13, Caden Huttenlocker with 12, and Jace Utley with 11. Zay Doering and Zeke Powell both chipped in 4 points, while Evan Waters added one to complete the scoring for the Mustangs.
The JV team will be back in action at home on Saturday night for a 6:00 PM contest against Bloomfield.
