Edgewood won big over Cascade 13-2 on Saturday.
Edgewood got things moving in the first inning. Ryan Stuffle drove in one when he doubled.
Edgewood tallied six runs in the second inning. The rally was led by a single by Cooper Thacker, a home run by Stuffle, and a fielder’s choice by Ethan Vecrumba.
Luke Hayden was credited with the victory for Edgewood. He lasted five innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out seven. Stuffle threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Cameron Ginter took the loss for Cascade. He lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing 13 hits and ten runs while striking out five.
Edgewood racked up 15 hits on the day. Harrison Pittsford, Josh Chasteen, Stuffle, Thacker, and Joe Kido each collected multiple hits for Edgewood. Pittsford went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Edgewood in hits. Vecrumba led Edgewood with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with nine stolen bases.
Cascade was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Ross Stephenson made the most plays with eight.
