Edgewood pushed its record to 15 -4 as they knocked off cross-town rival Bloomington North in an exciting 65 – 62 overtime win. The Mustangs led 24 – 17 with under 3 minutes to play in the first half, only to see the Cougars score 10 unanswered points to take a 3 point lead into the locker room at halftime.
The second half featured numerous lead changes with big plays on both ends of the floor. In the 4th quarter, Joe Kido scored 9 points–including 7 in a row –to keep Edgewood afloat. In overtime, Chayton Howard had a huge 3 point play and Trevor Taylor hit 4 clutch free throws to secure the win for the Mustangs.
Howard led Edgewood with 20 points and a team-high 6 rebounds while Taylor added 14 points and Kido 12. In a game where every point mattered, the Mustangs also got important contributions from Caleb Norris with 7 points, Parker Harrington with 5, Cam Banister with 4 (to go with 4 rebounds) and Curtis Cowden with 3 points.
