After a sluggish start that saw them trailing by 2 points after one quarter, the Edgewood Mustangs turned up the heat defensively and went on a 40 – 11 run over the next 2 periods on the way to a 76 – 50 drubbing of host Cascade. With the win, the Mustangs moved to 4 – 0 for the season, including 2 – 0 in the WIC East.
Trevor Taylor led Edgewood with 27 points, while Tate Balcam added 14 points in addition to grabbing several rebounds and loose balls for the Mustangs. Cam Banister added 10 points, Kyle Rogers scored 7, and Joe Kido had 6 points and at least as many steals.
Completing the scoring for Edgewood was Coleman Sater and Austin Schwartz with 4 points each, while Derek Farkas and Jace Utley scored 2 apiece.
The Mustangs will be back in action tomorrow night (Saturday) at home against Bloomfield.
