The Edgewood varsity posted their second dominating win of the weekend, improving their record to 11 -2 with a 73 – 39 pasting of visiting South Putnam. Though the Eagles came in with an 8 – 3 record, the Mustangs’ defense took them out of what they wanted to do, holding them to 37% shooting overall, and a woeful 13% (2 for 15) from 3-point range.
Trevor Taylor and Coleman Sater led Edgewood with 23 and 20 points, respectively, while Kyle Rogers had 12 points (9 of which came on three 3-pointers in less than a minute during the 3rd quarter) and Cam Banister added 11. Rounding out the scoring for the Mustangs was Derek Farkas with 3 points, and Austin Schwartz and Houston Holmes with 2 points each.
Edgewood’s next game is on Friday, January 11, when they host rival Owen Valley in a game to decide the champion of the WIC- Eastern division.
