Jackson Wendel fired a 39 and Noah Brooks added a 43 as Edgewood beat Monrovia, 175-223, in boys’ golf at Deer Creek on Saturday.
Jacob Hupp also had a 45 for the Mustangs, who picked up a win on a unfamiliar course.
“Jackson played pretty well,” Edgewood coach Garry Lee said. “I don’t think he’s ever played there before. And Noah, at 43, that’s good. That’s about two or three good rounds in a row for him.
“The rest of them, each had a big hole that shot them in the foot. But since none of them had played there before, I was pleased with the effort.”
Edgewood returns to action on Saturday in the Western Indiana Conference meet at Rolling Meadows.
