MARTINSVILLE — Jackson Wendel fired a 43 to lead Edgewood’s boys’ golf team in a 174-186 loss to Martinsville at Foxcliff Golf Club on Wednesday.
“It’s a little narrower and more up and down and side to side than anything we’ve seen this year, so I’m not disappointed,” Edgewood coach Garry Lee said.
Brandt Guthrie shot a 47, and freshman Tyler Smith had a career-best 48 to match teammate Jacob Hupp with 48.
“We didn’t have to use a score in the 50s, so that’s a plus,” Lee said.
Martinsville’s Luke Ferguson was the medalist with a 39.
Edgewood is scheduled to play in a three-way meet with Bloomfield and Owen Valley at Rolling Meadows on Thursday.
