FIRST ever 2nd place Regional finish for Edgewood Track & Field!!
Last Thursday showcased Regional talent at the Bloomington North Regional and for the first time in the history of Edgewood High School, the mens team finished in 2nd place, just behind Bloomington South.
The Wood had 12 events with at least one athlete in it and the Stangs were poised to perform well. When the night ended, The Wood had Regional Champions in the 3200 meter run (Austin Haskett), the 400 meter dash (John McGlothlin), and the 4×4 relay team (Hill, Bise, Strickland, McGlothlin).
Noah Bise was 2nd in the long jump. David Brown was 3rd in the long jump.
Austin Haskett was 4th in the 1600.
Ethan Hill, managing his energy, ran a safe 200 meter dash and did not qualify for finals.
John McGlothlin, saving energy for the 400, shut it down early but still ran fast enough for an 8th place finish in the 100 meter.
Colton Bowman ended his 4 year career with the Stangs as a 10th place Regional finisher in Discus.
Tyler Strickland finished in 9th in the 110 hurdles.
Strickland, along with Junior Nathan Bolin both placed in the top 8 in the 300 meter hurdles.
David Brown and Noah Bise finished in 4th and 10th respectively in the high jump.
The 4×1 team had a disappointing finish as an ill-timed quad cramp put a strain on the team, thus causing them to run their slowest time of the year!
Peeps moving on to the State meet this weekend are:
Austin Haskett in the 3200.
John McGlothlin in the 400.
The 4×4 relay team of Hill, Bise, Strickland, and McGlothlin.
David Brown and Noah Bise in the long Jump.
