The Edgewood Freshmen traveled to Northview and came home with an impressive victory, defeating the Knights 48 – 43. Putting 4 solid quarters together for the first time this calendar year, the Mustangs led from start to finish to win their 2nd game in a row.
Their strong overall play showed up in the rebounding column, where Edgewood finally held their own on the boards. Six different Mustangs had multiple rebounds, led by Joe West, Zach Fulk, and Kannon Collier with 4 each, while Zeke Weisner and Nick McCullough both pulled down 3, and Xzander Hammonds grabbed 2.
Hammonds led Edgewood’s scoring attack, hitting 6 of 7 from the field and 6 of 7 from the line to tally 18 points. McCullough added 9 points, Fulk had 7, West and Weisner both had 6, and Collier had 2 to complete the scoring for the Mustangs.
Edgewood will try to make it 3 in a row when they travel to Bedford on Saturday as part of a Varsity/JV/Freshmen triple header.
