It was a tough offensive night for the Edgewood Lady Mustangs as they dropped their last regular season game to Bloomington North 44-32. Edgewood shot just 30% from the field and allowed North too many easy drives in the first half, trailing at halftime 28-15. A much better second half defensively, holding North scoreless for nearly 6 and half minutes to start the half, allowed the Lady Mustangs to cut the lead to 5. But two missed block outs in the final minute of the 3rd quarter allowed the Cougars to up the lead to 9 entering the 4th. Edgewood once again cut the lead to 32-27 but was not able to get the stops or baskets to get any closer. Chelbie Anderson hit all three of her 3 point attempts for nine points to lead Edgewood in scoring. Carly Sherfield had 6 while contributing 4 assists. Kaiden Harrington also had 6 points in addition to 8 rebounds. Trista Helms had 5, Taylor Minnick 4, and Zoe Powell and Alle Spear with one point each. Edgewood ended the regular season with 18 wins, improving from 4 the previous year. They are back in action in sectional play versus Northview in the second game Wednesday night. All games will be played at Owen Valley.
