Edgewood had sluggish starts to both halves, but a strong 2nd quarter fueled the Mustangs to a 57 – 44 victory at Northview. Edgewood trailed by 2 at the end of the first quarter, but amped up the defensive pressure and used a 22 -7 second quarter to take command of the game and establish a lead that was never seriously threatened in the second half.
Trevor Taylor and Cam Banister led a well-balanced Mustang attack with 18 and 13 points, respectively. In addition, Coleman Sater scored 9 points, Tate Balcam tallied 8, Joe Kido had 7, and Houston Holmes scored 2 to complete the scoring for Edgewood.
With the win, the Mustangs improved to 16 – 4 on the season, and will try to continue their winning ways when they travel to Mitchell on Friday evening.
