The Varsity Mustangs evened their record at 6 – 6 with a 53 – 44 win at Brown County. After surrendering six 3-pointers in the first half, Edgewood’s defense tightened on the perimeter after the break, allowing only one in the second half.
On the Mustangs’ offensive end, the Eagles had no answers for the 1-2 punch of Coleman Sater and Trevor Taylor, who consistently found creases in the defense to score at the basket. Edgewood also hit 12 out of 13 free throws to keep Brown County at arms length and secure the win.
Taylor finished with a team-high 20 points, while Sater scored 18 to go along with 10 rebounds. In addition, Parker Harrington scored 8 points, Cam Curtis had 3, and Zeke Powell and Sam Kido added 2 points each. Kido also swiped 4 steals to lead the Mustangs defensively.
Edgewood will try to extend their 2-game winning streak when they travel to South Putnam on Saturday evening.
