The Edgewood Freshmen played nearly well enough to win, but a few untimely turnovers and missed free throws were their undoing in a tough 49 – 43 loss at Terre Haute South. The Mustangs shot a respectable 12 of 21 from 2-point range and 5 for 11 beyond the arc, but were only able to connect on 6 of 14 free throws.
Jacob Boggs led Edgewood with 17 points while also pulling down 6 rebounds. Grant Coffey added 7 points, and Mack Headdy tallied 5 points to go along with a team-high 8 rebounds. Rounding out the scoring for the Mustangs were Ziggy Teran and Ashton Moore with 4 points each, and Anthony Gough and Hayden Cross adding 3 apiece.
The Freshmen will have a quick turnaround, as they try to get in the win column when they travel to Shakamak on Tuesday.
