The Edgewood freshmen had a tall test to begin a Covid-restriction-delayed start to the season, falling 49 – 21 to Bloomington North. The Mustangs couldn’t overcome the Cougars size and strength, which led to several offensive rebounds for the visitors and several turnovers for Edgewood.
One positive for the Mustangs was that they were able to re-group at halftime and actually won the 3rd quarter 14 – 9.
Grant Coffey led Edgewood with 7 points, while Mack Headdy scored 5, and Anthony Gough had 4 to go along with a team-high 6 rebounds. In addition, Jacob Boggs had 3 points and grabbed 5 boards, and Mason Ranard had 2 points to complete the scoring for the Mustangs.
The Freshman Mustangs are back in action on Monday evening when they travel to Terre Haute South for Freshman/JV doubleheader.
