The Edgewood Freshmen bolted out to a 15 – 8 lead after one quarter, but then ran out of gas in a 49 – 42 loss to Indian Creek in the WIC championship game. Playing their second game of the morning, fatigue definitely became a factor leading to turnovers, missed block outs, and not getting back quickly enough on defense. Still, the Mustangs didn’t give up, and were only an in-and-out 3 point attempt from tying the game with under 2 minutes to play.
Mason Ranard led Edgewood with 12 points and 6 assists, while 4 players — Mialin White, Mack Headdy, Ziggy Teran, and Jacob Boggs– all had 4 points. Finally, Grant Coffey and Carson Druckrey both had 3 points to complete the scoring for the Mustangs.
White had 5 rebounds to lead Edgewood in that category.
