Three out of four isn’t bad, but it wasn’t enough for the Edgewood Freshman team tonight: though they won two of the quarters and tied another, a rough 3rd period was their undoing in a tough 53 – 43 loss to visiting Bloomington North.
The Mustangs went in to the locker room at halftime with a 2 point lead, thanks largely to the hot shooting of Aiden Georges, who had 16 of his team-high 18 points in the first half.
However, the Cougar defense limited his touches in the 3rd quarter, and no one else was able to fill the void. That lack of offense, combined with the visitors’ sudden hot streak from beyond the arc, led to an insurmountable deficit.
In addition to Georges’ 18, Cayden Howard scored 9 points (to go along with a team-high 8 rebounds), Henry Doering had 8 points, Cam Ingalls scored 6, and Josh Webb added 2.
The Mustangs will be back in action on Friday night at Cascade.
