After playing even the first 2 1/2 quarters, the Edgewood freshmen dialed up the defensive pressure in the last 9 minutes of the game to post a 50 – 32 win over West Vigo in the opening game of the annual John Foutch Memorial Tournament.
Every player on the Mustang roster reached the scoring column, led by Zach Sims’ 18 points. In addition, Mason Ranard scored 7 points, Mack Headdy had 6, Mialin White and Jacob Boggs each scored 5, Grant Coffey had 4, Hayden Cross scored 3 points, and Ziggy Teran had 2.
Headdy pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds and had 3 steals, while Ranard had 4 steals.
