On Thursday night, the Edgewood Lady Mustangs defeated Indian Creek by a score of 82-46. The Mustangs continue to run well and compete in every meet this year. The girls were a little shorthanded on Thursday without Annalyssa Crain and Kaylee Meyer in their main events because they are running on Friday at Zionsville. Even shorthanded the girls were able to compete and win the meet.
With the absence of Crain, freshman Sarah Foster stepped up winning the 1600 and 3200. Along with Sarah, Junior Bailey White placed 4th in the 1600 and 2nd in the 3200. Freshman, Olivia Werner, won the 800 and was apart of the winning 4×800 (Werner, Deckard, Richardson, Foster) and the winning 4×400 (Werner, Deckard, Milah, Bolander). Alyssa Milah returned from her illness and was able to win the 400, place 2nd in the 200 and was apart of the winning 4×400 team.
In the field events, Maddie Hartley tied for 1st in the High Jump with a jump of 4-6 and Riley Smith and Anna Goldsberry tied for 3rd with a jump of 4-2. The Mustangs were also able to sweep the long jump with Kaylee Meyer winning, Elizabeth Bolander finishing 2nd and Simone Brantley finishing 3rd.
In the throws, the Mustangs swept the disc with Taylor Acuff winning with a throw of 105-5, Alex Huebner finishing 2nd and Elizabeth Davis finishing 3rd. In the Shot Acuff won with a throw of 33-8.
Overall, it was a good night for the Mustangs. We now turn our attention to next Tuesday, when the Mustangs host Owen Valley, Northview and Lighthouse in a 4 way meet.
