The Mustangs hosted the Mustang Invitational on Saturday. The Lady Mustangs finished in 7th place with a team score of 35. It was a very competitive field won by Bloomington North High School.

The highlight today for the Mustangs was Annalyssa Crain in the 3200. She not only won the race, but she set a new school record with a time of 10:54.97. With this time, she won the race by 8 seconds. Very proud of the way she ran and competed. Annalyssa also ran in the 4×800 with Kaylee Meyer, Olivia Werner and Sarah Foster. This team went on to finish third with a time of 10:09.53.

In the 800, Olivia Werner placed 4th with a time of 2:26.79 and Kaylee Meyer placed 5th with a time of 2:26.92. For Olivia it was just off of her Personal Best, while Kaylee set a new personal best with the time.

In the field events, Senior Maddie Hartley set a new Personal Best with a jump of 4-8 in High Jump. She had been really close in recent weeks, and was finally able to get over the hurdle and set a new mark. This jump placed her in 8th on the day. In the Pole Vault, Emma Coffey tied her personal best with vault of 8-6. This placed her 5th on the day.

Overall, it was a pretty good day for the mustangs. Still battling some injuries and some illness. We are looking forward our meet this Thursday at Indian Creek.
