In today’s Crossover match, both coaches maneuvered their lineups in a few spots trying to find an edge with this re-match. Greencastle proved to be too strong in another 4-1 win versus Edgewood.
Two of the shining stars for Edgewood today were sophomore Lincoln Hammond who continued his improved play with another good win at #2 singles. We’ve talked about his patience and overall consistency on the court, waiting for the right opportunities to attack short balls. Lincoln stayed true to this plan today and he’s seeing more success as a result. Another bright spot was freshman Gavin Norris who played his first varsity singles match at #3 singles and went toe-to-toe with Greencastle’s junior Henry Carter. Really happy with Gavin’s improvement this season, and we know this type of early match experience will pay dividends in his future years.
