The Edgewood JV travelled to Terre Haute South and played extremely hard, but couldn’t overcome a couple of mental mistakes that led to a hard-to-swallow 59 – 52 loss that was closer than the final score indicated. Two end-of-quarter scenarios went awry for the Mustangs, allowing the host Braves to hit 3 pointers to boost their momentum and propel them to a narrow win.
The Mustangs were led by Jalin White’s 20 points and Nick McCullough’s 11 points, 9 rebounds and 6 steals. In addition, Xander Hammonds scored 10 points, Joe West had 7, Josh Webb had 3, and Nehemiah Yazzie had 1 to complete the scoring for Edgewood.
Edgewood will be back in action on Thursday night, when they open Western Indiana Conference play against Indian Creek at the Mustang Corral.
