The Edgewood JV showed no mercy as they steam-rolled an overmatched Brown County team by a 65 – 20 score. The Mustangs jumped out to an early 17 – 2 lead at the end of the first quarter, and continued to grow the lead throughout the game as 10 different players reached the scoring column fueled by 19 assists.
New-comer Zach Sims led the well-balanced Edgewood attack with 14 points, while Nick McCullough and Nehemiah Yazzie added 10 points each. Brayden Robinson scored 9 points, Joe West and Jalen White had 6 apiece, Xander Hammonds scored 5, Anthony Gough and Jacob Boggs had 2 each, and Ashton Moore had 1 point to complete the scoring for the Mustangs.
McCullough pulled down a team-high 8 rebounds, while Sims had 7 steals and dished out 6 assists to lead those categories. In addition, Robinson and Hammonds had 4 assists each, and Robinson, Sims, Boggs, White, and Josh Webb all grabbed 4 rebounds.
Edgewood plays again on Saturday when they host South Putnam.
