The Edgewood JV took a 10-point lead into halftime, but they had been there before–having surrendered an 11-point halftime lead to Tri-West in the Danville tournament last weekend. However, the Mustangs took Coach Moorhead’s halftime reminder of that sore subject to heart and made sure another let-down didn’t occur. In fact, Edgewood held the Eagles scoreless in the 3rd quarter and outscored them 33 – 7 in the second half to run away with a lopsided 59 – 23 victory.
Sean Sims led 4 Edgewood players in double figures, scoring 12 points to go along with 7 rebounds, 5 steals, and 2 assists. Next came Caden Huttenlocker, who scored 11 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Landon Ringler and Henry Doering were the other two Mustangs with double digit points, each with 10.
In addition, Brayden Robinson scored 7 points, Aiden Georges had 6 points (and 3 assists), and Joe West had 3 points to complete the scoring for Edgewood.
The JV Mustangs will be back in action tomorrow night when they travel to South Putnam.
