The Edgewood Lady Mustangs shook off a shaky first half, turned up the defense, and completed their home games without a loss by defeating North Putnam in the WIC Crossover game, 55-41. Edgewood turned the ball over 13 times in the first half and made only 8 of 26 (30%) field goals. But the second half showed a different story. The girls committed only one turnover and went 13-25 (52%) from the field, outscoring the Cougars 35-16. Chelbie Anderson led Edgewood with 14 points and Trista Helms had her best overall game of the year with 10 points and 8 rebounds. Kaiden Harrington and Carly Sherfield each had 8, Alle Spear 6, and Claire Sherfield and Taylor Minnick with 4 and Zoe Powell with 1. Minnick led the defensive pressure and also contributed 5 assists. Edgewood stands at 18-5 and finishes the regular season at Bloomington North on Tuesday.
