Edgewood claimed its 4th straight Western Indiana Conference Championship with a 53 – 41 victory over Greencastle. The Mustangs followed the defensive game plan closely, and used a 20 point second quarter to gain control of the game and take an 11-point lead into the locker room at the half. From there, Edgewood maintained a working margin throughout the second half–responding to every challenge that the Tiger Cubs presented.
Joe Kido scored a game-high 16 points in addition to keying the Mustangs’ defensive effort, while Trevor Taylor and Tate Balcam added 13 and 10 points respectively. A trio of Edgewood players–Houston Holmes, Cam Banister, and Coleman Sater–had 4 points each and Kyle Rogers had 2 points to complete the scoring for the Mustangs.
Edgewood has a quick turnaround, as the 3A #8 Mustangs will take their 13 – 2 record to Banker’s Life Fieldhouse in Indianapolis on Saturday afternoon for a contest with Monrovia.
