The last time the two teams met, Edgewood needed overtime to knock off Northview. This time, however, the Mustangs got it done in regulation, putting together perhaps their most complete game of the season in an impressive 57 – 42 victory over the Knights.
Trevor Taylor dominated the early going, scoring 11 of his team high 23 points in the opening period, while Coleman Sater took over down the stretch, scoring 9 of his 15 points in the 4th quarter. In between, Sam Kido knocked down two big 3-pointers in the 3rd quarter on his way to 8 points, while harrassing the Knights on defense and coming up with 6 steals. Parker Harrington added 7 points and Derek Farkas had 4 to complete the scoring for Edgewood.
The Mustangs also won the rebounding battle 23 – 21, led by Taylor and Sater with 5 each and Harrington with 4.
The win propelled Edgewood into Saturday night’s 7:30 championship game, where they will face Brownstown.
