Edgewood celebrated the final home game for its 6 seniors with a dominating 82 – 53 victory over Eastern Greene. Seniors Joe Kido, Cam Banister, Kyle Rogers, Tate Balcam, Austin Schwartz and Houston Holmes were honored before the game.
Once the game started, the Mustangs’ pressure was too much for the visiting Thunderbirds, as Edgewood converted numerous Eastern Greene turnovers into fast-break opportunities (including a Trevor Taylor putback of a feeble Cam Banister dunk attempt that was blocked by the rim).
Taylor led all scorers with 25 points, while Balcam (13), Banister (12) and Rogers (11) also notched double figures. In addition, Kido and Coleman Sater scored 6 points each, Schwartz had 4, Derek Farkas scored 3 and Holmes had 2 to complete the scoring for the Mustangs.
Edgewood finished the regular season with an 18 – 5 record, and will open Sectional play against South Vermillion at 6:00 PM on Tuesday evening at Owen Valley.
