On Wednesday night against Parke Heritage, Edgewood was able to overcome a slow start and still get the win. On Thursday night against Terre Haute North, however, the Mustangs could never quite climb out of the hole they dug for themselves in the first half. Trailing by as many as 16 in the second quarter, and by 14 a couple of minutes into the 3rd quarter, Edgewood battled nearly all the back–cutting the Patriots lead to one, 49-48, on a Kyle Rogers 3-pointer midway through the 4th quarter. Unfortunately, they were never able to gain the lead and lost by a score of 64 – 58.
A trio of Mustangs reached double figures, led by Coleman Sater with 15, while Trevor Taylor added 14 and Joe Kido had 12. Rogers had 6 points, Cam Banister had 4, Derek Farkas added 3, and Tate Balcam and Houston Holmes both had 2 points to complete the scoring for Edgewood.
The Mustangs won’t have to wait long to try to shake off their disappointing loss, as they travel back to Terre Haute South High School to face Robinson, IL at 5:30 PM on Friday.
