After closing the regular season on a 4-game winning streak, Edgewood hoped to keep the streak going in the post-season. And, after a convincing 59 – 43 victory over West Vigo, the Mustangs’ goal of a Sectional Championship is still alive.
Edgewood came out firing, but so did the Vikings, and the 1st quarter ended deadlocked at 15. However, from there the Mustangs gradually took command, eventually stretching their lead to 22 before clearing the bench with 3 minutes remaining in the game.
Parker Harrington and Coleman Sater led a balanced Edgewood attack with 13 points each, with Harrington adding 5 rebounds and 4 assists and Sater adding 4 boards and 3 assists.
Trevor Taylor chipped in with 11 points, 4 rebounds and 4 blocks, while Derek Farkas added 8 points and a team-high 6 boards. Finally, Zeke Powell scored 6 points, Sam Kido contributed 5 points and 3 assists, and Caden Huttenlocker scored 3.
With the win, the Mustangs advance to Friday night’s semifinal game against Northview.
